SWEET SCHOOL TIME!

Hey everyone!

I'm back with another preview from The Greeting Farm!  Did you all happen to check out the Club Anya & Friends blog over the weekend to see the ADORABLE new "Oh, Boy" Ian previewed with the Saturday Sketch Challenge?   He's so cute!   Well we've got a SUPER SWEET counterpart to show off to you today...

INTRODUCING...SWEET ANYA!
I always do something fun ( bus shaped cake, apple cake pops, decorate their doors) for my kids on the first day of school just to take the sting out of it.  This year I made cute little door hangers, this one for my daughter and a more boyish one for my son.  I will fill them with pencils, treats and maybe an I-tunes gift card.  Sweet Anya looks like my DD when she was young so it is perfect for her.
You may remember this little 'sweetie' from the Design-your-Anya contest a few months back!  Sweet Anya is the brainchild of Barbara Sproat, who just happens to be joining us today for today's preview!   Please check out her creation and leave her some love!  Without her, today wouldn't be as SWEET by any means :)

What's more?  Barbara is GIVING AWAY a SWEET ANYA to one lucky commenter on her blog today, so be sure to visit and tell her how SWEET her design is!

And while you're at it, hop on over to the other DT's blogs because there are TWO MORE Sweet Anyas hidden away somewhere and you JUST MIGHT WIN one!

We'll be back on Wednesday with our "SWEET SEPTEMBER" Blog Hop, including the winners of SWEET Anya and LOTS more fun, so see you there (it starts on the TGF Blog on WEDNESDAY!) and have a VERY sweet day, everyone!

DON'T LOSE YOUR HEAD!

Happy Friday!
SWEET SEPTEMBER is ALMOST here! You know what that means?
It's time for another Farm Fresh Friday challenge but we have a SPECIAL treat for you today...and it's just as SWEET as it is TOXIC??? Yep, you guessed it...we are previewing a BRAND NEW set "Sweet and Toxic" set to release this coming Wednesday, September 1st at The Greeting Farm!
EXCITED? Well, perhaps you'll be even MORE excited to know that our new CREEPER CREW sets are going to be released as 4x6 stamp sets WITH sentiments! How SWEET is that? You're probably noticing that all of this is just a LITTLE more sweet than toxic, huh?

Well let's show off these sassy new additions with some cards from the Farmers using Mercy's sketch as your challenge this week on the TGF Blog:

I used Toxic or is it Sweet?  The heads in the cupboard might give you a clue. You probably don't want to go trick or treating on her block! LOVE that skull too!
I used a card template I found in a papercraft magazine and adapted it to make a little cupboard to house Toxic's gruesome collection.
Now I am sure you are wondering where the heck Mercy's sketch is.  It is the background of the cupboard which you can't see.  I started out with the intention of making this a treat box.  I was going to attach the heads to rollos and make the front open. However,  I ended up just making it a decoration and the front doesn't open.  Here is what the background looked like before I placed it inside.
Did I mention I love the skull?  Here is the awesome part....... those skulls are embossed with GLOW IN THE DARK EMBOSSING POWDER!!!!
It looks waaaay cooler IRL.  Last year I was driving to work and thought oooh wouldn't glow in the dark embossing powder be cool? And sure enough when I googled it I found some at The Crafty PC.  I ordered it, set it on a shelf and promptly forgot about it.  When I saw the skulls I immediately remembered and started searching.  Awesome stuff!

Be sure to stop by the TGF Blog today to see all of the creations the FARMERS have for you and be sure to stop by the CA&F Blog tomorrow for MORE previews and an announcement!

One more announcement here on the TGF Farmer Front...today we sadly say a (bitter)SWEET goodbye to two of our dear, dear Farmers, Kadie and Cindy :( It's hard to believe these two beautiful souls have been Farmer's for a year already, isn't it? Parting is SWEET sorrow, indeed, and I'm not just saying that :( On behalf of Marie, Jess, and ALL of TGF, we say a SUPER DUPER Thank you to these two wonderful ladies and just KNOW that you'll never be FAR from the Farm! Best of luck and THANK YOU. for. EVERYTHING.

As for our little challenge today?

Upload your card/creation using Mercy's sketch to the TGF Galleria>Contests/Challenges>FFF>Mercy Sketch 8-27

The winner of this week's Farm Fresh Friday challenge will WIN the new "Sweet and Toxic" set! I'll see you back here on MONDAY with another SWEET preview, and this all leads up to our RELEASE DAY DT blog hop in which there will be prizes....LOTS of prizes :) Our "SWEET SEPTEMBER" DT Blog Hop will include the Farmers, Team Anya, and our Critter Crew! We can't wait to hop into another fun filled month at TGF with you!

Until then...hope your day is a little less toxic, and a LOT more Sweet!

SHABBY BIRDIES

Hi everyone!  I thought I would spend lots of time doing stuff for my blog while I have been off but I have been "wasting" my time cleaning a years worth of dirt from my house.  It so needs it but yuck! I did manage to combine several challenges with this card before  I had to return to drudgery though.

First off, the current  ARTFUL INKABLES THINK INK CHALLENGE is to Bling it on baby.  Self explanatory I think, LOL!  I used the sweet birdhouse from the ANY BIRDIE HOME set and just kept adding stuff.
I used the sketch from Jen Del Muros SFYTT. And the colors are from today's Color challenge at SCS

Ok, back to work!

COLORFUL FARM FRESH FRIDAY!

Hey everyone! I accomplished the biggest project on my to do list this past week. I painted the living room and hallway. Jeesh, I forgot how exhausting it is to paint. I have also spent a lot of time running around in the car (I went through six different paint samples) and I realized how much doing that drives me crazy. I need a "me" day but can't decide what I want to do. What do you all do to relax and take care of yourself?
Flirty Anya is always ready for a "me" day especially with her girls.  I didn't really have a specific occasion for this card but I thought Flirty Anya was perfect for a girls night out invite.

This week's Farm Fresh Friday Challenge is to make a project using these colors:
Love that bright, fun color combo, hope you  will play along! Think I will go take a bubble bath!

PROJECT STUFF
Stamp - Flirty Anya, The Greeting Farm

PRINCESS WAND

I have a tutorial up over at THE HYBRID CHICK on how I made this princess wand.  It was really easy to make and I know several little girls (and one big one) who would love to have one!

Hope you'll check it out!
Thanks!

SWEET SIXTEEN!

Last week my sweet, rosey cheeked, 7 and a half pound baby girl turned 16.    16!!!!!!!!!  All those trite expressions about time are so true.  I am proud of her though as she is turning into a lovely young woman.

This weeks FARM FRESH FRIDAY CHALLENGE is to incorporate a number into your project.  Perfect for a sweet sixteen card though this one was made not for her but for me.... I should get some of the credit right?
All the lessons, arguments, do this, don't do that, have probably made her FEEL like she has been in a cage and not in our loving protection.  FRIDAY, from the Creeper Crew, was used since my daughter is seldom seen without her ipod and earphones (thus blocking out all the lessons, arguments, etc., ha ha).
I am of two minds on letting her grow up.  Part of me wants her to soar....

And part wants to keep her locked up with me forever (or at least till she is 21) LOL!  Sooo I made two different insides for this one depending on my mood.
Thanks so much for visiting and a huge congrats to the new Critter Crew! They are an amazingly talented group so go check them out!

STITCHED WITH LOVE!

Hope you are all having a wonderful Sunday!

This was made for the current THINK INK CHALLENGE  to make a non-standard card AND use purple.  I used the SEW YOU set to make a vintage style card.  The papers are the Bo Bunny ones I used last week for my bicycle card. Love those papers!

Hope you will play along with the challenge, AI stamps aren't required (but you get 2 chances if you use them) and you have until Monday, August 16 , 2010, midnight Pacific Standard Time to link your creation to this post. A winner will be chosen Tuesday, August 17, 2010 to win a GRAB BAG of AI STAMPS!

Have a super week and thanks so much for stopping by!

FARM FRESH FRIDAY !

Happy Friday, yay! Only one more week before I get a nice long vacation. I am so fortunate that my employer gives lots of time off. Though I will spend most of my time shuttling my dd back and forth to band practice I will have some extra time to get some of those tutorials done.
This week the Farm has gone sketchy with another wonderful one from farmer CINDY.

I flipped the sketch on it's side and tilted things a bit. I used My Guy Ian from the Later Sk8ter set, isn't he cute? Both the skateboard and sentiment is included in the set. I think it makes a fun boy card especially for hard to please teens. The papers are all digi (except the solid card stock) Cowboy Cool from The Digi chick.

And, did you hear? The Greeting Farm is looking for a new Critter Crew! If you love coloring up those sweet Marina Neira images (and who doesn't) check out the info HERE.
Have an awesome day!

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY (and a belated happy birthday)!

Holy cow, two posts in one day! As you probably know, it is THE GREETING FARM'S 2nd year anniversary and we are celebrating with a customer blog hop.  TGF has the most awesome fans and I always love seeing everyone's amazing creativity using the stamps. Hop on over to the TGF BLOG for the complete list of bloppers.
To celebrate, this new, cute little cupcake Anya digi by Rachel Schneider for the farm (which is available today along with all the other new releases) was used to make, what else, a cupcake wrapper and box.  Since she is a digi I made her small enough (about 2.25in) to fit on the wrapper.
She makes a sweet treat even more special! I also made this as a belated Happy Birthday to Jess, our amazingly wonderful DT leader.  I was on vacation and missed her Birthday Blog Hop so I wanted to make sure she new how special I think she is, so..... HAPPY BIRTHDAY JESS! I wish I could give you this cupcake in person!

This is the inside of the box which is a template made specifically for cupcakes from The Digi Chick. It looks just like the one the cupcake came in except mine is prettier LOL!

We are chatting over at PCP from 7-8 CST, so once you are done hopping head on over for some fun conversation.  The complete list of people participating in the hop can be found over at the TGF BLOG.

SO SWEET!

Hope you are all having a great weekend!
I needed a thank you and made this scalloped circle shaped card. I used the cute little bicycle from the Spot On Summer set from ARTFUL INKABLES.  It is such a fun set and can be used with or without buttons.
I used the Spellbinders scallop circle die for the base and some super pretty papers from Bo Bunny that I found at my LSS, Scrapbook Super Station.  Love that store, I could spend hours wandering the aisles!

Challenges for this card:
Moxie Fab World - Fun and Cute!
The Shabby Tea Room #20 - 1-2-3
Crafty Creations #78 - summer
Simon Says Stamp - dots
The Creative Cottage #19 - texture
Thanks for stopping by and check back later tonight for some TGF fun!
