A FIN-TASTIC FARM FRESH FRIDAY!

How is that for alliteration? Happy Friday everyone! I have two posts for you today, the Scrappy Frogs Challenge and Farm Fresh Fridays Challenge for The Greeting Farm. It is a long one but I hope you find it worth the time.

The SCRAPPY FROGS CHALLENGE this time is to use "under the sea" as inspiration. I chose this digi shark image from Dustin Pike. Just a note on DP's images he is having a sale of 25$ for his whole collection of digi stamps HERE for a very short time. I made it huge (changing the size is a major advantage of digi stamps) by putting it into photoshop and enlarging it to about 7 inches from nose to fin tip. I did have to go over some of the drawing lines though because they were a little light since I made it so big. It will definitely need a custom envelope.

I cut out circles (using a compass) in its stomach to make a window card. I placed the image onto navy cardstock and hand trimmed around the outer edge and made a smaller circle to rim the larger one on the shark part.

For the inside, I used the background, fish, kelp and super cute seahorse from Fred She Said digi stamps. I enlarged the background to almost a full 8.5 X 11 inch size, printed it, and using the shark as a template, I placed the shark on the area I wanted and cut it out. Hope that makes sense. I placed that on a navy CS base also. I attached the two layers with a navy tab at the top fin so that it flips open.

The fun thing is that the shark card can stand on its own using the fins and teeth to prop it up. Sorta looks like it is diving in the water. Even though I don't love my coloring on the outside of the shark I love how the overall card turned out. Make sure you hop on over to Scrappy Frogs Challenge Blog and show off your under the sea creation, they always have some really fin-tastic prizes (sorry couldn't help myself).

Next up is the Farm Fresh Friday challenge from THE GREETING FARM.

This week the challenge is to use punches and bling and at least two GF stamps so I made this card and little gift box set. Well, the punches (lots and lots of circles) are obvious but the bling just sort of looks like salt on my balloons. Any tips on photographing glitter anyone? Anyway, this adorable pig (one of my very favorite of the new ones) is from the Fly Away set and the sentiments are from the fantastic new Butterfly Wishes set. I definitely will have more projects from both because they are so versatile for so many different types of projects.

I colored several of the image and then just randomly punched parts of them out and scattered them on the card. The sketch is an SCS challenge sketch.

I love this box. I found it on Mariska's (super talented lady) blog Sending You a Little Smile. She says she found it in a Dutch card making magazine and didn't feel that it was appropriate to show the how-to and since I have no access to Dutch mags and wouldn't be able to read them if I did, I tried to figure it out myself. It came out OK but I have to tweek it a little. Once I have it figured out I will share it with you all(hopefully next week) if you are interested.

Give the Farm Fresh Friday Challenge a try, they have super prizes too! Last weeks challenge prize was a choice of one the two sets (yea, the ENTIRE set)I used for today's project so I know this week is gonna be good too!

Have a great weekend everyone and THANKS SO MUCH for stopping by!
