AN ACE OF AN INSPIRATION

Many many moons ago, I suggested using Charm City Cakes for a Splitcoast Stampers challenge. I had totally forgotten about it until Stephanie emailed, said she was considering it for the next challenge, and asked if I could make a card. Of course I said yeppers! I love watching the Ace of Cakes on Food Network.  Duff is adorable,  their cakes are amazing, and it looks like so much fun to work at the shop. Unfortunately, I hear the show has been cancelled, it figures!
I used THIS cake as inspiration for a shabby little bird themed card.  This is card is extra special because I made it not only for the challenge but  for the birthday of my mom who will be 90 years old in May.  She is like the Energizer bunny and I can only hope that I am half as with it at her age.

Hope your having a wonderful weekend.  GO PENS!!!!

The papers are from Bo Bunny and Prima, bird stamp is from My Time Made Easy, the bird cage is an SVG from Whimsidoodle stamps, and the flourish is from Tim Holtz.  The little flowers were made from a Punch Bunch flower punch.
The scalloped circle for the base of the card was made with Doilie Shapes Set 1 from The Digi Chick

90 year old mom? How is that possible? you look too young to have a mom that old? Did she have you at a very late age?

Anyway, cute, cute, card. Love everything about it!The music paper and the popped up/curved birdcage is brillant.

LOVE me some Duff too-and I heard that :( Too bad-I heard it was being cancelled due to the popularity of Cake Boss which I don't like at ALL compared to Ace! He was the original! Well, this is beautiful and I LOVE that birdcage!!!
